About SarahThere is not a time in my life when I cannot remember being creative of some sort. I have vivid memories of sneaking into the nook between the tv and the bookcases as a kid and coloring on that small patch of wall. I blame my Mom for this, after all she did buy me the swank 72 box of crayons that came in the plastic carrying case. How could I not put them to good use? My creative nature followed my through grade school and into high school, where I found my love for all things photography.
I attended Dominican University (River Forest, IL) with double majors in Photography and Graphic Design. After living in Italy the summer between my Jr. and Sr. years for study abroad, I knew I wanted to put my artistic skills to use in a more fine art capacity rather than with commercial work. I went straight into making and showing my mixed media/photographic works throughout the Chicago area and around the country. In addition to my work, which is represented in Chicago by Addington Gallery, I am a teaching and visiting artist at various art schools throughout the Midwest, as well as at local high schools and universities. My fine art studio work can be seen at www.rehmer-studio.com You can also check what I've got going on teaching here: photo-encausitc.com |
